The Endure filmmakers, Jim Carleton, Joe O'Brien, and Rob Tritton, stand in front of the screen at the Gasparilla International Film Festival.The film premiere sold-out and gave the festival a reason to add a second show on Sunday, March 21st, at 1:30 pm at the CinéBistro.
Tickets are on sale only at the door. Based on the standing ovation the film received Saturday night...you might want to get into line early for Sunday's show.

This was my very first time attending the Gasparilla International Film Festival; and I thoroughly enjoyed myself!
Congratulations to all who came together and made this film possible. And a special kudos for promoting the Lakeland, FL area by highlighting some of its rustic, historical and down home qualities.
Having read the review in the Ledger, I too can understand a few of their concerns. Where the Ledger mentions, "Both [main actors] frequently sound stiff talking to each other." Perhaps that was due to "time and budget constraints" in putting the film together? Having time to get a feel for a co-star must be expensive.
But where the Ledger uses the phrases "put aside" and "put up with", referring to the characters themselves and their actions, I'd have to say, like the movie title, the characters had to "endure" some aspects [of pain] throughout the film.
All in all, I could see this film as the pilot project for a series [cable or TV]; because one of the pivotal scenes for me was the internet connection. The fact that the website the kidnapper used could be set up again and maintained by some other pervert out there in cyberspace, is a rather terrifying thought.
This film was an emotional rollercoaster for me; it ran the gambit. And I did enjoy the religious aspect, however subtle, because I saw it as "hope" should always be maintained, no matter what you're going through in this life.
